After dedicating 20 years to public education, Kate served as a classroom teacher and a behaviour specialist, She is now shifting into counselling.

Our practicum therapists bring fresh perspectives and the latest techniques, while being closely supervised by experienced clinicians. It’s like having two therapists in one session—innovative approaches paired with seasoned guidance.

Amber is a broadly experienced therapist with a strong passion for trauma-informed care and has volunteer experience with survivors of sexual violence. Trauma-Informed Care and Anti-Oppressive Practice are the cornerstones to Amber’s approach to therapy.

Amber has 7 years of experience in the field of community mental health and addiction, working with folks who experience severe and persistent mental health difficulties and concurrent substance use and gambling concerns. Prior to this, she spent time doing disaster recovery work in Southern Alberta in an advocacy role with the Town of High River.

Amber utilizes an integrative approach to therapy drawing on Person-Centred Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills.

Amber is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Masters of Social Work. Amber is currently registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) and is authorized for restricted psychosocial interventions. Amber is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and is certified in Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY).

When not at work, Amber can be found with her nose in a book, or walking her dog Nugget.

Locally raised, Kelsey is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). She holds a BA (with distinction) in Women’s and Gender Studies and a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

Kelsey seeks to validate every one of her clients through a trauma-informed lens and uses an integrative approach of behavioral therapies, where the client is the expert. She believes that every individual regardless of age deserves to have their story heard. Kelsey has experience working with women and youth who have experienced various traumas. Kelsey works with children as young as 6 and has a passion for working with couples and families.

Kayla is a therapist for parents. After a rough transition into parenting, she lost herself for a while. After a long Anxiety/OCD recovery journey, she is passionate about helping parents find more joy and fun in parenting (without all the guilt and extra worry).

She believes you are wildly capable of creating the life you want and that you are already enough; you just might need the right tools to start believing it yourself.

Kayla uses a mix of acceptance and commitment therapy, feminist therapy, expressive art therapy and compassionate inquiry to get to the root cause of your struggle so that you can feel it, process it and heal it.

Chantal is a Counselling Psychology Practicum Student in the final phase of her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. While completing her practicum, she offers reduced-rate counselling for adults, couples, and adolescents (14+).

Chantal’s Practicum is being overseen by Clinical Supervisor Charlie Webb. Chantal will be receiving weekly supervision along with chart reviews, guidance and training from Charlie and the Practicum team at Yorkville University.

Chantal utilizes a person-centred therapy approach where acceptance, collaboration, empathy, and respect are the cornerstones of her care. With this approach, she believes the client is the expert in their life. She aims to create an inclusive and warm space where she will “walk” alongside her clients while they explore their challenges and strengths and find hope and healing.

Chantal has a special interest in working with with couples and the perinatal population.
